Solunar Table 2026 — Mexico Fishing Calendar
Lunar feeding periods
How to read this table?
- 1. Colors indicate day quality: green = excellent, yellow = good, gray = average.
- 2. The number in each cell is the activity score (1-5). Higher score = more active fish.
- 3. Moon symbols show the lunar phase. New moon and full moon = peak activity.

What Is the Solunar Table?
The solunar table is a calendar based on John Alden Knight's theory (1926) that predicts the best fishing times based on the position of the sun and moon. Select a lake and browse months to see daily feeding periods.
Major and Minor Periods
Major periods (2 hours) occur during upper and lower lunar transits, when gravitational pull is at its peak. Minor periods (1 hour) coincide with moonrise and moonset.
Moon Phases and Fishing
New moon and full moon produce the best fishing days, as the combined gravitational pull of the sun and moon is strongest. First and last quarter phases offer moderate activity.
